I’m a producer who really loves telling stories. I’ve got some good ones, like that time I put a baguette in the world’s hottest wind tunnel in Belgium. Or that time I was bruised and battered by a group of Asian Carp leaping through the air. Or that other time where I experienced a fire drill hundreds of feet below Earth’s surface, in one of the world’s oldest salt mines. I’m lucky enough to get to spend a short snippet of time with people who live these awesome stories every day, and it’s my pleasure to get to share these people with you, via the wonders of television.
I got my start as a segment producer at Discovery Channel’s Daily Planet, producing more than a hundred features and more than 400 interviews for the show. I developed and produced the column Riskin’s Business starring host Dan Riskin, as he answered simple questions with scientific experiments, like testing just how quiet predatory birds are when they’re on the hunt, and seeing if there is actually strategy to Rock Paper Scissors.
I also played an integral role in developing one-hour specials like the award-winning One Giant Leap: A Neil Armstrong Tribute; Asteroid Trackers; Fire In The Sky; as well as a one hour, same day special on the Japanese earthquake and tsunami in March 2011.
In 2014 I produced and wrote my first full series Great Lakes Wild, an 8-part nature documentary show looking at the animals living around the Great Lakes. After that, I stayed on to series produce Wild Rockies, a 4K 5 x 60 minute doc series looking at the animals that live among the Rocky Mountains. I’ve also worked with Circle Blue Media as a senior producer on their series for the Olympics Channel, The Green Road, and I’ve been a story editor for several series, including The Big Feed, Attack and Defend, and Great Blue Wild.
I believe in the power of storytelling, whether it’s a 5 minute short or a multi-episodic visual treat. I pride myself in doing what it takes to tell a great story, on budget, and on time. Feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or ideas.
