An Aerial View of the Rocky Mountains

Sometimes this job is hard work. There are plenty of late nights, stacks of permits and funding applications, and lots of ‘no’ before you get to a ‘yes.’

And then, there are the days that make it all worthwhile.

With Wild Rockies, we really wanted to push the awesome magnitude of these mountains. To do that, we needed to get up high. So DOP Mike Brown and I hopped in a helicopter, piloted by the legendary Ralph Sliger, and off we went, for 7 hours, dipping and dodging our way around the peaks to get awesome footage. Here are a few stills I snapped when I wasn’t glued to the window, breathing in the view.
